J. EVANS, P.E. Field & Office Engineer Peters & Associates Engineers, Inc. EDUCATION: Bachelor
of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. EXPERIENCE: Peters & Associates Engineers, Inc. Mr. Evans joined Peters & Associates, Engineers Inc. in
1993 to assist in the collection of traffic data for signal design projects and
traffic related studies; data collection for seat belt surveys; initial and
final inspections of Statewide City & County signing projects; and assisted
in the development of the 1995 Jonesboro Transportation Study and developed the
preliminary cost estimates for the individual projects. Bituminous Asphalt Sealing Specialists, Inc. Mr. Evans has worked with BASS, Inc. part-time since 1995
promoting the use of Slurry Seal
and Micro-Surfacing to Counties, Cities, and State Highway departments. US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway
Administration Mr. Evans retired from the FHWA in 1990 after 28 years of
service. Positions held during this tenure were Area Engineer, Assistant
Planning and Research Engineer, and Safety Programs Coordinator. Duties
consisted in assisting in the administration of the Federal -aid Highway
programs to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and reviewing Planning,
Research, Design, Construction and Safety Projects; administering the Disaster
Assistance programs and coordinating with other Federal agencies in various
programs.
